Website is slammed over road safety fears

A GERMAN website encouraging motorcyclists to take part in a ‘time trial’ on a 100-mile loop in North Argyll and Lochaber has been condemned by Oban Community Council and Police Scotland.

The loop, Tyndrum to Tyndrum via the Connel Bridge, Fort William and Glencoe, is a favourite of motorbikers. A previous UK site promoting the area was shut down.

As police clamp down on road users in rural areas, the Oban group raised the issue of the high number of accidents on the roads in and around Lorn.
