hen I spoke to Geekom at CES, the A6 proved to be the hot topic. While the A8 (see issue 363, p85) is popular thanks to its incredibly small footprint and 0.47-litre volume, not to mention its stylish aluminium alloy frame, many potential Geekom customers wanted a cheaper option. Something closer in price to the £535 Minisforum Venus UM790 Pro (see issue 363, p91), which won our recent mini PCs Labs.
The A6, then, is Geekom’s answer. With a selling price of £499 (I’ll ignore the £599 list price), it’s £220 cheaper than the A8 despite using the exact same chassis. That means two USB-A3.2 Gen 2 ports on the front alongside the 3.5mm combo jack and power switch, a full-size SD card slot on one side and the majority of ports tucked away at the rear. Highlights include two USB-C ports, both of which can be used to output to displays, plus a pair of HDMI 2.0 connectors – this tiny PC can output to four 4K monitors at once. A single 2.5GbE port and trio of USB-A ports complete the set.
