inux Mint is one of the most talked-about distributions, for reasons we’ll come to later. Ubuntu-based, it’s been around for 18 years and has earned itself a loyal following. It’s updated roughly one month after the Ubuntu LTS build on which each version is based, so you should see a major release every other year, along with point releases every six months. Major builds are supported for five years, with support for this release, codenamed Xia and based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, running through to 2029.
