Expanding the EOS R system
Whether you want a camera that raises the bar for hybrid stills and video performance, or an easy-to-use entry into full-frame mirrorless, the EOS R system has something to offer
The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II introduced in the EOS R5 and EOS R6 covers 100% of the sensor in Face+Tracking and Auto Selection AF modes
A s the least expensive camera in the EOS R line-up, the EOS RP is an attractive option if you’re looking to upgrade to a fullframe sensor. It’s the lightest full-frame camera that Canon has ever made, making it a natural fit for travel, landscape and street photography. You don’t get the same overall performance as cameras higher up the EOS R tree, and battery life is a weak point. But you do get a lot for your money: the same 26.2Mp resolution as the EOS 6D Mark II, 4K video, Dual Pixel CMOS AF with eye-detection (although not when you’re shooting in 4K) and a host of creative in-camera options such as focus bracketing, multiple exposure and an interval timer for creating time-lapse movies.
