DISTORTION
Distortion is fairly minimal in all of the lenses on test
T ypically, fast telephoto zooms exhibit minor barrel distortion at the short end of the zoom range, negligible distortion at mid-range settings, and a little pincushion at the long end. That’s true of nearly all the lenses in this test group, although the Sigma 50-100mm and 120-300mm lenses are virtually distortion-free at the short end, the latter having minor pincushion throughout its entire range. Automatic in-camera corrections are available for the Canon lenses, as well as the Sigma 70-200mm Sports and 50-100mm Art, although the latter may need a firmware update.
