GOING THE DISTANCE
Don’t limit yourself to the classic 70-200mm range
N early all of the lenses in this test group have an enormously popular 70-200mm zoom range, with a constant aperture of either f/2.8 or f/4. The Tamron 70-210mm f/4 lens is very similar, but two of Sigma’s ‘fast tele’ lenses are notable exceptions and rather unique. The 50-100mm Art lens for APS-C format cameras gives an effective zoom range of 80-160mm, whereas the 120-300mm Sports lens goes large in telephoto reach. This sequence of shots shows how the various focal lengths work out in practical terms.
