EXTEND YOUR REACH
All but one of the lenses here are compatible with extenders, for stretching your reach
C anon, Sigma and Tamron all make 1.4x and 2.0x extenders or ‘tele-converters’, the latest editions of which are fully compatible with the respective brands of lenses on test. The only catch is that, if you use a 2.0x extender with an f/4 lens, the widest available aperture shrinks to f/8. This can make autofocus unavailable in some Canon DSLRs. There are no such problems when using a mirrorless body, but the RF 70-200mm on test is incompatible with Canon’s RF Extenders.
