Whether it’s on the bubbling funk intro to the title song, which sounds like a Gil Scott-Heron outtake, or the Eno-esque murmurings of Wake Up Call, The Little Unsaid’s third is a slippery fish, evading the nets of genres. With vocals alternating between songwriter/producer John Elliott and synth player Mariya Brachkova, it shifts moods and momentum with elusive guile. Born from long improvs, it catches the essence of today’s anxiety overload but rarely sacrifices innate warmth.
