KINGMOOR: An open day at DRS’s Carlisle Kingmoor depot on July 6, saw more than 1500 people attend. Over £65,000 was raised for charity, which included the auction of 17 former Class 37, 66 and 68 namplates. Eighteen locos were on show (Nos. 57309, 66421/424/429/431, 68001/6/7/16/17/19/21/24/25/33/34, 88005/8), while No. 66429 was named Charlie Birse after the company’s late engineering team leader, and No. 66431 was named Kingmoor TMD.
