Locomotive exchanges
ARISING out of the circumstances that, in the Palace of Engineering at the British Empire Exhibition last year there were the LNER’s 4-6-2 Flying Scotsman and the GWR’s 4-6-0
Caerphilly Castle, interesting locomotive trials were scheduled for this April. It was arranged for a GWR engine of the ‘Castle’ class to be sent to the LNER, and for one of the latter railway’s Pacific type to be changed for it.
