There’s no doubt that you’re getting one heck of a tablet for your money
Apple’s iPad line-up is arguably better than it’s ever been, delivering class-leading performance from the cheapest model (the new iPad 10.9-inch, reviewed on p82) to the M1 iPad Air (MF377). And now we have the delicious prospect of the first M2-powered iPad in the form of the new iPad Pro.
We’re looking at the 12.9-inch iPad Pro here, but both the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch come with the Apple silicon M2 chip – the same one used in the MacBook Air (MF382) and MacBook Pro 13-inch (MF381). That means you get an 8-core CPU, a 10-core graphics processor and a 16-core Neural Engine for machine learning tasks.
On both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, models with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage get 8GB of unified memory to play with; while on 1TB and 2TB models you get 16GB of memory. The new iPad Pro models also benefit from the latest wireless standards: Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, plus Apple continues to sell both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular models, the latter of which includes 5G connectivity as standard.
