“It’s a great shoe for those who want to avoid running shoes with a carbon plate, but still want a shoe that they can run a faster workout in”
The HOKA Mach 6 is billed as ‘versatile’, but will it offer good value for money across all your different runs?
The fit
The HOKA Mach 6 fits me true to size in aUK 6. I’d say that it was perhaps slightly on the snugger side through the midfoot and toe – maybe more like the fit you’d expect from a speedy shoe than a cushioned cruiser. There’s a good amount of support around the ankle and heel.
The comfort
Like most HOKA shoes, the Mach 6 is very comfortable. It doesn’t have the squishy and pillowy softness of some shoes because it’s aiming to give you some responsiveness for when you want to run a bit more quickly. The upper is lightweight but still has enough padding and support to make it comfortable.
Who and what are they for?
The Mach range is HOKA’s attempt at a versatile daily trainer that is well suited to a lot of road running miles. This version, the Mach 6, has had a couple of updates including streamlined uppers, a new midsole foam and an updated rubber outsole.
