Balance, to me, used to mean standing on one leg while brushing my teeth It’s an essential skill for runners, but one that we’re reluctant to focus on in training. Instead, we opt for the glamorous, big-ticket training sessions; mile reps, tempo runs and the Sunday long run. All far more Insta-brag-worthy than standing on one foot and trying to touch the floor. But sometimes we overload ourselves with the big stuff when we should be working on the balance that allows us to withstand it all.
