SPOTLIGHT ON…
NUNEATON WRITERS’ CIRCLE
Pick up our latest anthology, The Unlucky Horseshoe, and through the fourteen historically-based short stories, you are taken on a journey from the 12th to 22nd century, writes secretary Samantha Ridgway.
Beginning as a creative writing course in 1970, two years later it became the Nuneaton Writers’ Circle. Both the course, and the group, were headed by AF Daniels, the author and playwright, and were housed in a local school.
Moving venues several times over the years, our monthly group meetings are now accommodated at the Heritage Centre, Nuneaton. Built in 1735, it was once a free school for the local poor children of the parish. Now, it is a museum and meeting place for local groups.
