INTRODUCTIONS
Writing Magazine presents a selection of wellbeing magazines currently accepting contributions. We strongly recommend that you read back issues, familiarise yourself with their guidelines before submitting and check websites for submission details.
Breathe magazine is edited by Jonathan Grogan and covers wellbeing and mindfulness, creativity and escapes to encourage readers to slow down and take more time for themselves. Submissions are welcomed from both experienced and new writers. Outline relevant journalism experience (links to suitable published articles should be included), professional qualifications and general interests, and explain why your idea/style is a good fit for Breathe. For experienced writers, pitches should be 100-120 words and outline a clear angle/ purpose, structure and conclusion (nothing too sweeping or generic). Include reference points and experts/case studies you propose to interview and quote. Any stats/ facts will need to be researched thoroughly and taken from reputable sources, with links provided. Proposed exercises, sidebars, how-tos, top tips etc should also be outlined. Breathe avoids product pitches and content that has a consumerist or materialistic leaning.
