THE CAMEL’S HUMP
Lorraine Mace is not best pleased when decisions by committee affect a book event she’s been anticipating
It’s always a pleasure to receive an invitation to a book event – and even more so if I am to be the main attraction! My friend was on the committee of a charity looking to raise funds for dementia care. The idea was to have a cream tea garden party on the lawn of a local golf club, with background music and various arts and craft stalls, followed by an auction. My friend convinced her colleagues that having a ‘meet the author’ corner would enhance proceedings and I was to be the author of the day.
