• When and where did your journey as an author begin?
About twenty years ago I signed up for a creative writing evening class which extended into a part-time degree. Throughout the course I was intending to be a very serious playwright. Unfortunately, I had zero ideas for any very serious plays. So, quite shortly before final dissertations were due, I panicked and wrote the opening to a romantic comedy instead. Fast forward several years and that rom-com, now titled Much Ado about Loving, became my first published book (writing as Alison May).
