Mediocre guitar players like myself will be only too aware of how our fingers always tend to fall into the same positions, and any attempt to create exciting new voicings and chord shapes are thwarted by our lack of manual dexterity. Detuning is one option (but comes with its own frustrations) and using acapo is another – but the Freestyle is acombination of both: each string can be individually “capoed” to one of four different notes, allowing you to play the same old chord shapes but with exciting new results – and some of them may even be musically satisfying. www.axexel.com
