Three years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. Not long afterwards, I first saw a copy of Healthy Food Guide and quickly became a subscriber. After two years of sensible eating, my diabetes went into remission – and has remained there. With the magazine’s help I’ve lost more than 7½ stone.

Key to my success has been meal planning. I’m lucky that I have the time to do this, and that I enjoy cooking and exploring new recipes, as does my husband. Together we plan meals a fortnight at a time, which helps to make sure we have a good, varied ‘flexitarian’ diet. We have many favourite HFG recipes for weekdays, Sunday treats and entertaining guests.
