Making Jewellery  |  October 2010
This month I thought that it would be nice to introduce you to the MJ team! So I cajoled the girls and made them stop for a minute to have their photo taken. So here are the amazing team that keep this magazine rolling, from the left Claire Harris (Editorial Assistant), Me, Jennifer Burgess (Deputy Editor) and Kendra Grey (Designer). It’s getting to that time of year when the long school summer holidays are nearly over and the thoughts turn to the possibility of more free time and your Making Jewellery magazine is looking more inviting by the day. So here at the MJ offi ce, we decided to prolong the summer weather and give you that Indian summer break you long for and take you on an exotic journey with a great range of easy, quick to make projects for all tastes, along with some more challenging projects for dedicated makers. For those who have a little more time or who want to push their skill level we have a great beach glass bracelet from Andrew Berry and an amazing bezel set ring from Kaye Lewis. We have a fabulous lampwork bead project from Mangobeads which really makes me want to get in front of a torch and have a go, along with the intricate polymer flower cane that we feature on the front cover. Th ese alone are going to keep me busy making for most
of the month. Sometimes a perk of being an editor is being able to accept an invitation to attend a workshop with a metal clay guru and then being able to share it with all of you. Read about my fun ‘making’ day out on page 62. All that is left to say is, I hope you enjoy your exotic journey and we’ll meet again as the autumn leaves start to fall.
