Please don’t stop your medication without discussing it with your GP. When you discover how great running is for your mental health I understand how tempting it can be to ditch the tablets. However, your GP will have carefully considered whether your symptoms were severe enough to start medication. Perhaps initially you had little energy to do any exercise and the medication may be playing more of a role than you realise. I’d recommend remaining on an antidepressant for six months after you feel well. Enjoy the fact that you’re feeling better for a few months, then discuss stopping with your GP.
