Any food eaten in excess can make you gain weight, which is why moderation is key. The national dietary guidelines recommend no more than two portions of fruit a day as part of a balanced diet. As fruit is high in fructose, which is not as easily broken down into glucose as other simple sugars, it’s important not to overload your system to prevent the carbs from being stored as fat, instead of being used as energy.”
