Dave Krangel, founder of MoRunning, and the rest of his team have big plans for this year’s MoRunning series. We caught up with him to find out what it takes to dig deep and destroy a 10K for charity. “MoRunners have a few things in common; first things first, they’re not afraid of looking silly and having fun. Secondly, you don’t have to be a mega athlete to take part in our races – they’re entirely inclusive and are designed to help everyone get active and hopefully raise some money for charity in the process.
“Finally, you have the option to showcase some seriously well-crafted fancy dress. So if you enjoy having fun, being silly with friends and dressing up for a good cause – MoRunning is for you!”
RAISING AWARENESS
A good time is guaranteed at a MoRunning race, but when you become a MoRunner, you’re running for a greater good. “There is a serious story behind the wigs and fluorescent sunglasses – the MoRunning team is committed to raising awareness of men’s health, be it mental health or physical, encouraging our participants to raise funds for the Movember Foundation. And it’s this that ultimately sees thousands of our MoRunners digging deep and running for charity throughout November.
“Now that we’ve convinced all those fun loving, passionate types that don’t mind face paint, wigs and a wacky fancy dress outfit – what’s it actually like on the day? Well believe it or not – it’s a laugh! With a 5K, a 10K and sometimes even a 10-mile Muddy MoRun, for those who like to get a little dirty, the spirit is infectious and everyone is ready to have fun and do some good with it.”
MORUN FOR EVERYONE
“We have seen everyone from 80-plus-yearolds to young children joining in with the fun, not to mention all those in-between. You can expect to see some seriously funny sights, really cool MoMedals for all finishers, Champion and Superhero medals, as well as plenty of support, fun and freebies from our partners too, which include Movember, Volvic and British Military Fitness.
“Most importantly, to be a MoRunner means you are part of something bigger than yourself. You’re part of a community, a family and a team. Ultimately, we want to see everyone cross the finish line with a huge smile on their face.”
