MATT BERRY
HEARD NOISES
ACID JAZZ
While so often actors’ albums are half-hearted side projects, it can sometimes seem as if Matt Berry’s screen work is his moonlighting job. Heard Noises is the What We Do In The Shadows and Toast Of London star’s 13th album, seeing him move from pastoral, Nick Drake-like folk-pop and English psych-rock to a more American-styled sound. Unashamedly retro, such as on the Steely Dan feel of Wedding Photo Stranger and Stax-y There Are Monsters, it’s one of the most joyous albums you’re likely to hear in 2025.
