THE COLOURS OF RAIN
I enjoy the challenge of photographing brollies in the rain. My camera, complete with rain cover, was already out and a high ISO set. It was a busy scene with a messy background, but I saw a bus about to pass and hide what was behind the pedestrians. The low light meant that, even at ISO 6400, I could only muster 1/15 sec with the lens at its widest setting, but that was slow enough to blur the bus, which suited my idea. If anything, I’d have liked a little more blur; however, the bus was stuck in slow-moving traffic, so I didn’t want to risk setting a slower shutter speed and increasing the chance of camera shake.
