Making the most of colour isn’t difficult, but it can be challenging to start with, although this depends on the individual. Some people ‘see’ or visualise colour in a photographic sense more readily than others; it’s the same with black-and-white photography.
If seeing colour creatively doesn’t come naturally to you, the best way forward is to practise shooting pictures with a colour approach that works for you. This could mean concentrating on punchy, saturated colours, or if you have a preference for more delicate pastel hues, seek out images that suit those colours.
