This coffee-table photo-book is old-fashioned in a couple of senses. Showcasing the vast archive of photographer Richard Blanshard during his time at the Cannes Film Festival, it largely covers the 1970s to the ’90s, with candid shots of stars like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Blanshard’s approach is old-school, too: lots of expensive smiles in tuxedos. Nothing revelatory, then, but it’s a handsome, glamorous tome.
