THE SPEECH
LEGENDARY FILMMAKER JOHN MILIUS ON WRITING THE SCORCHING USS INDIANAPOLIS MONOLOGUE
How did you get involved in
Jaws
?
Steven called me. He was having trouble with a scene. Back in ’74, before success really hit for us all, everybody (Steven, George [Lucas], Francis [Ford Coppola], etc) worked on each other’s stuff. It was just fun to do. I suggested a few ideas including the Indianapolis incident.
