This seventh Civilization mixes things up for the long-running empire-building strategy series — but maybe not for the better. New era-shifting ‘Ages’ now force players to regularly swap which culture they’re guiding, losing developed cities and military units in the process. It’s balanced by great writing and automating duller features — like transport links — and it’s the best-looking Civ yet, but history may not be kind to it.
