Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) hosted the area’s first electric vehicle roadshow last weekend in Fort William. The environmental charity teamed up with Home Energy Scotland Highlands and Islands to bring a range of cars to Lochaber for people to test drive on Saturday September 29. A Nissan Leaf, BMW i3 and Tesla model S could be driven. There was also advice from experts on what electric cars are like to live with and how they can help reduce fuel bills. The LEG team gave advice on electric car chargers and the £4,500 plug-in vehicle grant and the £35,000 interest-free electric vehicle loan which makes electric motoring affordable for more people. Nevis Cycles and off Beat Bikes were also there with trial and e-bikes.
Ten members of staff from the Fort William store made the trek.
