As part of his week of constituency engagements, Ian Blackford MP visited the Knoydart peninsula a fortnight ago. The Lochaber MP explained: ‘The day started with an advice surgery. I was then keen to investigate the issues that are being experienced with the communities’ hydro scheme. ‘I was accompanied by Roger Trussell and Grant Holyroyd of the Knoydart Trust, to see first-hand the machinery that powers the area. In the coming weeks and months, I will be working with all shareholders to ensure that we reach the best solution for the people of Knoydart.’ Mr Blackford then continued on to Lochcarron, Kishorn and Raasay.
The pupils of Inverie Primary School and Nursery in Knoydart were recently successful in being awarded a grant of £2,500 from Calor Gas towards the costs of enhancing their playground and purchasing much-needed play equipment.
