HEATON HARRIERS ANITA NOTT WOMEN-ONLY MEMORIAL 5km Jesmond Dene

EMMA HOLT repeated her 2015 victory, taking 17 seconds off her own course record, set last year, Les Venmore reports.

In the bright but breezy conditions, Holt soon headed the field of 270 runners, the largest for several years, holding a 28-second lead over Rachel Lundgren approaching the 3km point.

The advantage was extended to 67 seconds by the finish line.

Lundgren, in second place, led Gosforth to a narrow team victory over host club Heaton.
