Welcome to September, when the sun starts to fade to a gentler amber light, and with many couples choosing this calmer time of the year to tie the knot, our final Wedding Issue for 2010 concentrates on cakes perhaps more suited to a later summer special day. As however the pace of the year slows for many, the heat is certainly beginning to rise for those of you planning to enter Cake International 2010, by far the UK’s biggest annual cake show, and for those of you contemplating taking the challenge this year this month also features the much anticipated competition schedule. Last year you surpassed yourselves, and at we can’t wait to see what wonders our readers produce this year. And just to give those of you courage who feel things just don’t work out for you when you push for that pinnacle of perfection, you may like to have a look at Amtul Knight’s fabulous watering can with harvest flowers. As she moved her original piece for our photographer she dropped the display, completely destroying it, but to meet our print deadline she re-made it in less than a week to have it shot in time. So take heart, even the experts don’t always find things go exactly to plan. Good luck!
