Anti-flak measures
NO WONDER London’s biennial DSEI arms fair excluded even more journalists than normal this year – the PR company running its press operation also represents controversial Israeli arms giant Elbit.
The huge government-backed arms fair is run by Clarion Events, but the Eye has established that the fair’s press operation is in the hands of CMS Strategic, Elbit’s UK PR firm for some years (Eye 1661). This year DSEI excluded journalists from investigative website Declassified UK (who had been given entry to the previous two years’ events) and the Eye’s journalist (who has sometimes been allowed in before).
