DIVISION ONE
BOTTOM side MILFORD, who had registered a first win of the season when they won at Oulton in their previous outing, came close to staging another upset when they led 26-16 at promotion-chasers WIGAN ST PATRICKS deep into the final quarter.
Pats, though, prevailed 28-26 through tries on 68 and 70 minutes by Ash Kendrick and Jordan Penny, both of which Brad Smith improved.
Dave Thompson, Phil Glover, Penny and Liam Gannon had crossed earlier for Pats, while Milford had led through three tries and a goal by Sam Best, touchdowns by Macauley Barron and Elliott Whatmore, and two Jake Payne conversions.
