The Island, who travelled with only 16 players and who had lost 38-6 to the Sharks on their own patch, are now in the top six after having seen Shaw Cross bounce back from 10-0 down to lead 12-10 through Evan Stephenson’s conversions of tries by Jermaine Akadaire and Nathan Wright.

The visitors restored parity on the hour with a penalty-goal by Fin Dutton-Rosconie, after Akadaire had been sinbinned for a dangerous tackle.
