PREMIER DIVISION

WEST HULL have blasted the race for the Minor Premiership wide open.
Something had to give in the Green and Golds’ clash with leaders HUNSLET ARLFC, with both sides seeking to extend six-match winning streaks, and it was the ARLFC who had to concede in a 20-4 defeat.
Wests, beaten 34-26 at Hunslet back in June (the hosts staged a remarkable rally from a significant deficit) were not prepared to experience a repeat, and ground out an 8-0 interval lead with a try on eleven minutes for Kieron Masike. Ryan Wilson improved and landed a penalty-goal as the half-hour beckoned.
There was no further score until the hour mark, when Ethan Shore squeezed in wide out and Kieran Welburn added the extras from the touchline to establish a 14-point cushion.
