AI – artificial intelligence – is changing the way we edit photos. For example, Adobe Photoshop 2024 uses its Adobe Sensei AI tool to perform common photo fixes – such as removing unwanted background objects from a photo or making a pouting model smile. And Apple are developing an AI tool called MGIE. This is a Multi-modal Large Language Model (MLLM) that turns written prompts into edits. For example, you can type ‘change hair colour from blonde to pink’, and the code will apply that command to a photo. However, while hair colour may be changed the code tends to replace subject’s faces with less than flattering eyes and teeth.
