Using formulas
Formulas are among the most complicated but also the most powerful tool in the Numbers app. A formula is used to calculate data based on the contents of other cells. For example, a column of numbers might end in a cell where you want to display the added total. To do this, first click on the cell where you want the total to live. Now in the menu bar’s Insert option, select Add Formula. You can use all sorts of formulae; here we want Sum, to add the numbers. The total appears. Double click on the cell that uses the formula to edit it, including changing the cell range that contributes to the result, changing the computation that’s carried out and more.
