THE BUILDS
THIS MONTH’S STREET PRICES...
BUDGET
THESE BUILDS ARE MADE
with you in mind. In almost all scenarios, the majority of the components between the systems are interchangeable, bar the CPU and motherboard combos. That means you could take our AMD budget build as your template of choice, and mix in the RX 7600 GPU. Alternatively, you could pick a component from our mid-range system and pop it in the budget one. As long as those mobo and CPU picks remain concrete, you should be golden, although bear in mind that the B650-S WiFi listed below doesn’t have PCIe 5.0 support as standard, so your M.2s will run slower if you pick up a drive on the new standard.
This month, we’ve seen a number of price hikes sweep across pretty much all of the components. As we write this, Black Friday has passed, and so the market’s recovering from its budget-busting deals shenanigans, with prices returning to relative normality in the meanwhile.
It’s also a bit of a time of change; Intel’s launching a new round of graphics cards shortly, and we expect Nvidia to announce new GPUs at CES. As such, a lot of stock is starting to reach end of life, particularly some of the early RTX 40 series models. It’s becoming difficult to find good pricing, and stock is disappearing.
