A DUNBEG man has been acquitted of a sexual assault charge, after a jury returned a verdict of not proven at the end of a four-day trial at Oban Sheriff Court.
Kieran Hendry, 19, of 64 Lochnell Road, Dunbeg, denied engaging in sexual contact with a colleague without her consent when they were working alone at an Oban hairdressing salon on May 26 last year. When the jury failed to reach a majority verdict after four hours of deliberation on Friday afternoon, Sheriff Patrick Hughes instructed the court to enter a verdict of not proven and acquitted Hendry.
