The coronavirus situation caused London’s Royal Court to close its theatre spaces but it is still dedicated to ‘finding original new plays that ask bold questions about the way we live now’ and moved to accepting online script submissions.
‘We are looking for outstanding plays which are formally or thematically original and are unlikely to be produced elsewhere,’ say guidelines. The theatre champions all its playwrights no matter whether they are undiscovered, emerging or established. Plays which have been performed at the Royal Court have transferred to the West End and New York, UK and international tours and digital platforms.
