Founded in 1999, NewStart was launched as the UK’s first regeneration magazine. Today it is a subscription website telling the stories of people and projects creating social and economic change in local areas in the UK as well as internationally. The site has sections on communities, economic development, finance, housing, good local economics, local government, regeneration and environment.
NewStart publishes several stories a day, from shorter news pieces to feature articles of around 1,500 words. The audience ranges from those involved in local government work, NGOs and the charity sector to the general public with an interest in local social and economic development.
