Aquila, which we also featured last month, is a lively and informative educational magazine aimed at bright, curious young minds aged between eight and thirteen. Aquila readers are confident, independent readers and the magazine’s content is tailored to their abilities, and of equal interest and relatability to any gender. Both short stories (1,000 to 1,300 words) and feature articles (800 words) are accepted. Article writers should contact the editor with ideas in the first instance. A fee of £105 is paid per accepted piece.
