Rail has successfully installed the main span for the footbridge which will provide step-free access at Llanelli station. Contractor AmcoGiffen carried out the work overnight on April 27/28 while the station was closed to passengers. The next stage will see the lift shafts installed in the coming weeks as the project gathers pace. Llanelli is one of six stations in Wales and Borders becoming step-free and more accessible, with the improvements being funded by the Department for Transport as part of the Access For All programme. This view of the new structure is looking westwards.
