J ames Norton (Happy Valley, Little Women) stars in this utterly heartbreaking tale as John, a window cleaner and single father living in Northern Ireland with his young son Michael (Daniel Lamont). Terminally ill, John is determined to find his boy a suitable foster home before he dies – a life-altering decision that he rightly agonises over. Drawing on a true story, Still Life writer-director Uberto Pasolini teeters towards sentimentality but even the stoniest of hearts won’t fail to melt at Norton’s bond with the super-cute Lamont.
