Hammond maestro
(1945-2021)
Mike Finnegan’s recording debut could not have been more auspicious, playing Hammond organ on “Rainy Day, Dream Away” and “Still Raining, Still Dreaming” on Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland. He recorded a number of solo albums, but it was as a heavyweight sessioner that he left his mark, playing on albums by Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Cocker, Tracy Chapman and many others.
