TOM THALL
Country singer-songwriter
(1936-2021)
Born in Kentucky, Hall arrived in Nashville as a 50-dollars-a-week songwriter in 1964. Nicknamed “The Storyteller”, his “Harper Valley PTA” gave Jeannie C Riley a No 1 hit and his songs were recorded by Johnny Cash, George Jones, Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings, among others. He also recorded more than 30 albums in his own right.
