POLE VAULT

Holly Bradshaw: has battled back after injury
HOLLY BRADSHAW has been to hell and back with injuries since finishing sixth in the London Olympics, but now looks poised to challenge for a podium place in Rio after securing her selection in style in Birmingham.
The 24-year-old was a class apart at the Olympic trials, entering the competition at 4.34m when all of her rivals had already gone out. Her winning margin was almost half a metre as she cleared 4.60m ahead of Sally Peake’s and Jade Ive’s 4.15m.
The world’s most famous female vaulter, the Russian Yelena Isinbayeva, might be unlikely to be competing in Rio in August but the British No.1 is assured her place on the plane to Brazil.
