Did you know that there’s more to local library resources than you can see on the shelves? These days public libraries provide a variety of free electronic resources that you can access online, often without even having to go to your local library to use its computers. All you need is a valid library ticket and login details. If you don’t already have them, get yourself registered.
Your local library website will give you a list of all the online material available, so check that out first. Once you have browsed the list, follow the link(s) to the resources you’re interested in, sign in and start researching. Simple!
Public libraries decide independently which resources they offer to their members, so there is no definitive list of what you will find. Nonetheless, there are certain types of resources that tend to be available through most local libraries.
